After the sale of our last house in 2005, the Chapter has longed for a place to call our own and foster the full fraternal experience within its Brotherhood. This began our First to Build Campaign which raised over $800,000 dollars from our generous alumni. In 2017, our new residence opened as Embry-Riddle's first on-campus house located in the Chanute Complex off Beville Road and S. Clyde Morris Blvd., just a short 3-minute drive to campus. Our custom-designed home is fully ADA compliant with amenities that equal or exceed those at on-campus dorms such as a study room with ERAU computer access, EagleCard locks, SGA shuttle service, a full-time live-in House Director, and all-inclusive rent.
We welcome all students and alumni who would like an in-person tour our house. Please contact our House Director at least 24 hours in advance.
For the last 5 years, Brother Mark Mckean has served as our “BB”, (Alumni advisor). Now Mark has accepted a new challenge as Housing Director. Mark has been a longtime brother, as he started at ERAU in June 1972, and was initiated in the spring of 1973. In 1974 he left to serve as aircrew on a P-3 Orion in the US Navy for two years. Upon returning to ERAU, he again became active in the fraternity and served as the “D” before graduating in 1978 with a BS in Aviation Management.
Mark was hired by Cessna Aircraft and held various positions including South Florida District manager, single engine division. Mark spent most of his career in Charlotte North Carolina where after leaving Cessna was promoted to North American Sales and Marketing Manger for a French company where he pioneered a new aluminum air piping system which was quickly adapted by NASCAR and other high-tech companies.
Mark has two children, Megan and Logan. Logan is assistant superintendent at Bald Head Island country club in North Carolina. Megan has her master’s degree from University of Georgia and works to improve the lives of those college students with special needs throughout the United States.
Mark said, “I am excited to live among my brothers and intend to help mentor the brothers so they can enjoy a fulfilling and exciting time in their lives as Delta Chi brothers, and students at ERAU. I also want them to know that our Fraternity house is one of the finest in the nation, and to take personal pride in keeping and maintaining our house for the many alumni, active brothers and those yet to come.”
